Green Manufacturing And Recycled Shutters In Destin

We provide window treatments containing some recycled content or are recyclable because we believe in providing you with sustainable shutter products. Polywood® shutters are not only a completely recyclable shutter, but they also contain up to 20% recycled Polywood material. We’re the only shutter company in Destin or even the US that does that.

Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We aim for reusing any and all materials whenever it’s feasible. We recycle water that cools down parts when they’re coming out of ovens. We reuse packaging supplies. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. We end up recycling hundreds of tons of materials each year.

When we package our window treatments for transportation to your house for installation, we insert reusable corner pieces on the edges of louvers and use as little cardboard as possible to pack up the shutters.

Non-Toxic Paint Finish For Shutters

Our plantation shutters are coated with patented paint finishes that are environmentally safe – and are even less than the accepted volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. In our manufacturing method, none of our paints give off fumes. We mean it when we say our paints aren’t toxic.

Polywood Shutters don’t give off harmful gasses – so you and your family can relax and enjoy your window treatments.

The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Destin, Florida

If you ever decide to change your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in Destin to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. All you have to do is take down the shutters at your own expense, and call our store manager, Eric, at 850-203-0419 to set up a pick-up. We will pick up your shutters and reuse some of their materials in future Polywood shutters. This is the case for Polywood shutters only—we don’t offer recycling for other shutter brands.

With this program, it’s easy to recycle Polywood shutters. And, together, we’re assisting in keeping the environment green in Destin.
