Check Out Spring 2017s Share Your Shutters Winner

Eric Ramsey

We’re moving through springtime here in Destin, but we haven’t forgotten about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Our winner for Spring is Tonya S., who shared a few photos of her new shutters that feature a lot of great design choices.

Tonya’s house features some stunning new Polywood® plantation shutters in the dining room. Because her shutters are shut, you can really get a look at how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Imagine that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be the perfect setting for a personal candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your home, you can capture that exact mood no matter the time of day.

Take a look at how the white shutters perfectly match the white trim on the baseboard as well as the white ceiling. Those neutral tones make the black wood furniture and the hardwood floor’s texture stand out even more.

That wasn’t Tonya’s only photo submission, however. Below is another photo she submitted of her new sliding barn door shutter!

We love this barn door shutter for a few reasons. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The rustic aesthetic of the wood paneling with that sleek black sliding track up top give an enduring yet cozy look. What we like even more than the shutters’ looks is how practical it is. The barn door shutter sits on top of the window frame, so it can control the light levels while still allowing the window to easily open and shut.

Because the shutter sits on the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. As an example, if she wanted to set some plants on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it catch some rays while still blocking sun glare from outside.

Tonya tells us that this is the third time they’ve had Sunburst install window treatments for her home, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For winning our quarterly Share Your Shutters contest, Tonya will receive a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your favorite room with shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to show off some shutters from a Floridian next go around!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your home is missing a little something, we’d love to help. Call 850-203-0419 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Destin’s window design experts to begin.
